At Oyster Bed Speedway last Saturday night it was a race against Mother Nature to get the full card of racing in. This time Mother Nature won out and the races were called prior to the start of the evenings features. On a cool and chilly night a small group of Speedway faithful endured the cool temperatures and the threats of rain and were treated to an excellent round of heats and semis.
In the Modified division Brandon Snow took back to the track without even missing a race after his car had careened up the wall on the backstretch knocking out a light pole and flipping onto his hood on opening day. The rookie, in a new car was able to continue logging laps as he gets used to the division. Both Kris Fournier and Jason MacCallum had solid nights. Fournier drove to both heat wins with MacCallum right behind him in both races for a pair of second place finishes.
Out of nine races run so far this year In the Street Stock division we have seven different winners. Both Mark Leclair and Gerald MacQuarrie have two wins under their belt. MacQuarries second win of the season came last Saturday night. In the divisions opening race of the night Emmett Donahue and defending Champion Nick Chaisson exchanged a few shots throughout an action packed heat race. In the end Donahue was able to stand his ground and took home the checkered flag treating the fans to a smoke show burnout celebrating the win. Chaisson wouldnt be held out of the winners circle all night as he grabbed a win in the last race. Andrew Thompson was the other winner on the card.
In the Four Fun division Jeff Gallant grabbed his division leading third win of the year and Tyler Smith was a double winner.
The Outlaw division had a pair of winners in Tyler Maclean and Troy Burke.
